Yes, you can get oils almost anywhere, (hello Best Buy?!) but I believe quality matters. Just like a home grown tomato tastes better than what you can get in the store, or without a doubt you would know the difference between a $7 bottle of wine and a $40 bottle of wine, or how thankful you are for a good pair of shoes after being on your feet at the end of a long day.
I get this question often. Why did I go with doterra? When it comes down to it, their oils speak for themselves and their philosophy is to educate, educate, educate. Numerous people have come to me and other leaders on my team and have made the switch specifically for these 2 reasons: 1. they compared our oils, and 2. want the education they know we provide. But here are the facts, and why I don't just use their oils, but educate on them:
▶ doterra costs 1/3-1/2 less than the price of their leading competitor. (I use the word "competitor" loosely we don't really have competition from another oil company, we have had such growth and success, we're in a different league now.)
▶ doterra does more purity & safety tests than any other essential oil company. On average, 11 more tests!
▶ doterra does extensive 3rd party testing before we even do our own tests. Even their leading "competitor" has had multiple reported cases of adulterating their oils when users sent them to a 3rd party lab as well as illegally harvesting endangered plant species. This is extremely dangerous (and of course unethical) for those of us that are intentionally staying away from synthetics for our own health concerns and if like me, you plan to use oils on your children and for those of us that are trying to take care of the Earth with these amazing plants.
You can actually see the test results from your own oil bottles. No other oil company in the world is giving their consumers access to this information. Enter the batch # on the bottom of your oil here: sourcetoyou.com (click quality reports)
▶ doterra gets all of their plants from where they grown indigenously. Plants are meant to thrive in their native environment. Duh! 100% of their oils are sourced this way. There's so many variables: sun levels, rain fall, temperature, soil compounds. Thriving plants give higher quality essential oils.
▶ doterra is making a difference around the world. Doterra doesn't own any of their own farms, they choose to partner with communities through co-impact sourcing. With over 100 different oils & products, they source from over 40 countries, more than half of which are considered developing countries. They are creating and providing jobs at an ethical wage, giving access to clean water, building schools, and so much more. (This is a huge reason why I educate and am so passionate about this company, there is so much love in each bottle of oil we use.)
In addition to co-impact sourcing, they started the Healing Hands Foundation. Healing Hands provides food, education, support to communities in need. They partner with natural disasters and respond to national tragedies. They have partnered with Days for Girls that provides feminine hygiene products and education to communities where girls have been shamed and alienated for menstruating. They have also partnered with O.U.R. Operation Underground Railroad who has made it their mission to put an end to childhood sex trafficking.
Co-impact sourcing and Healing Hands are a huge reason why I'm so proud and will continue to work alongside doterra.
▶ dōterra is the largest EO company in the world.
This company is amazing. I don't just know from those facts above, but from personally getting to hear from the doterra executives, the farmers, and community leaders they've partnered with. And again, at the end of the day, I've found their oils are just simply the best.
